DENISON, Tex. (KXII) - A vehicle accident Thursday afternoon sparked a small grass fire and knocked out power to North Texas Regional Airport for a time.
Texas Highway Patrol troopers tell us an older man was driving a pickup hauling a boat on a trailer on Airport Drive near the airport's north terminal around 1:30 p.m. when the trailer became dislodged from the pickup, went into a ditch, and hit a guide line.
That sparked a small grass fire and knocked out power to the area, including the airport, for about half an hour.
Power has since been restored to the area, including the airport.
No injuries have been reported.
Troopers tell us the the hitch receiver on the man's pickup and the trailer did not match, and he was not using a safety chain.
They tell us the driver will likely face a citation.
