WAUKESHA, WI — Waukesha police responded to the intersection of Highway 59 and S. East Ave. on a report of a traffic accident.

According to police reports, the driver of a vehicle had the trailer they were pulling "fly off" their vehicle.

Police reports indicated that the incident, which was reported just after 5 p.m. on May 15, resulted in the wayward trailer nearly striking another vehicle as it skidded carless down the road. The trailer came to an abrupt stop after it hit a traffic standard.

According to police reports, the collision between the trailer and traffic standard resulted in disabling the traffic signal and knocking the traffic pole over. The trailer came to rest on top of the exposed electrical wires from the downed pole.

Police indicated the driver of the vehicle who lost its trailer - a red pickup truck - kept driving following the incident. No citations have been issued as of yet related to the accident, police said.
