Kelley Thompson Because the people that do this don’t care about the lives of animals, don’t care about regulations, hell this looks like a rigged together trailer. If someone can leave an injured animal, they aren’t going to hitch and hook the trailer securely to the truck. If trailer would have been secured, it may not have rolled that far attached to a vehicle

Suzanne Oglesby Cheval I thought you should know...in October 2017 I was pulling my 2 horse slant with tack room trailer on a federal hwy with one horse in the front compartment. A small car passing on my left looked at his cell phone and swerved right, drove all up the left side of my truck. This shoved me so hard and I began swerving. I had just had my trailer brakes serviced and I think they saved me. However, the trailer jumped off the 2 inch ball somehow, the pin and slide were still in place after the accident, the chains broke tney were quite heavy and crossed, and the trailer flipped on it's right side and slid and spun. I managed to stop without rolling, jumped out to run back to the trailer expecting to have to put her down, to see her get up and urinate. She suffered a severe laceration on her head but was remarkably ok. And me, too. And the man that hit me. My point is, don't think your hitch and chains can hold together against anything. I don't know anything about this reprehensible individual and this particular event but I thought you'd like some info from someone who unfortunately learned the hard way. The truck and trailer were totaled, I feel blessed we walked away.

Louisiana law enforcement authorities are hoping the public can help locate whoever left a severely injured horse at a roadside after the trailer in which the animal was riding overturned. St. Landry Parish, Louisiana, Animal Control Director Stacey McKnight said a passerby called police on Jan. 16 to report that a horse was lying on the roadside next to an overturned trainer. Upon arrival, St. Landry Parish Sheriff Office deputies and state police discovered a filly lying in a creek bed beside a trailer. “She was lying with her head uphill or she would have drowned,” McKnight said. “There was water beneath her and it was only 19 degrees.” A cursory examination revealed the horse was in shock and appeared to be malnourished. “All we could do is keep her warm and transport her to a clinic,” McKnight said. A veterinary examination revealed that the filly had sustained a broken spine as well as cuts and scrapes consistent with being ejected from a trailer. “Also, we could not bring her temperature up,” McKnight said. “She couldn’t nicker or lift her head, and she had lost control of her hind end.” The filly was euthanized due to her injuries. The incident remains under investigation. But aside from a license plate recovered from the trailer, there are no leads in the case, McKnight said. “But I’ll follow up on every single lead and forward them to police,” she said. Anyone with information about the incident should call McKnight at 337/501-9100.

PRAIRIE RHONDE, LA (WAFB) -

A young female horse was rescued after being left in a ditch on the side of a road in rural St. Landry Parish, KATC-TV reports.

The trailer that was transporting the horse apparently fell apart in an accident, a spokesperson for the St. Landry Parish Animal Shelter said. The horse was left lying a ditch in Prairie Rhonde, LA.

Workers from the animal shelter and a group of volunteers worked to get the horse out of the ditch and transported her to a veterinarian’s care at the Copper Crown Vet Clinic. Staff at the clinic have named the horse “Stormy.” The clinic is currently accepting donations to cover the cost of Stormy’s care. Donations can be made by calling (337) 407-8600.

Louisiana State Police are currently investigating the crash involving the trailer, according to KATC.

Speak UP?  Are you or they kidding us?  What do you think we have been doing for over 15 years now?

In the United States and Especially In Henrico County VA....people who speak up are simply destroyed and harassed by lawmakers who can send the police...like (SWATTING) to your home and convince your wife and children into making your life hell so you get the message.

We all know the quickest way to get to any man.....is to get to his wife and this is exactly what Henrico County has tried to do.

Memo I am not Russian I am an American who wants to save lives and even horses.

On January 16, 2018. At approx 7 20am
A truck lost control on Hwy 104 at the intersection of 3043.
The trailer tore apart. The front dome, almost 75 feet from flipped trailer. Loosing control, the trailer rolled.
Throwing a filly out. Point of exit marked.
We named her Stormy.
This person left her roadside. Freezing. In shock....alone.
Her spine was broke...she could not nicker, nor could she move her rear end.
When we arrived on scene, she seemed to know, WE came to help.
We wrapped her small body in blankets...and we stayed with her. We prayed for her.
Someone knows this trailer. Someone knows her past.
PLEASE, please help us. If you past them.
If you hear something. Anything.
Her exact time laying in the ditch is unclear. Approx 7am, Tuesday... Due to fog...and the location
Please speak up. Director cell 337-501-9100, Stacey. SLPAC OPELOUSAS LA 337-948-6184.

Very Clear....no SAFETY CHAIN...OR BREAKAWAY CABLE A VIOLATION OF FEDERAL LAW!
