LOS ANGELES (Legal Newsline) — Three consumers have filed a class action lawsuit against tire businesses, alleging breach of warranty, fraud and negligent misrepresentation.

Julie Hamilton and Jerad Hamilton of Loomis, California, and Lyle McLean of Casa Grande, Arizona, filed a complaint, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated Feb. 9 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against TBC Corporation, Dynamic Tire Corporation and Does 1-10, alleging they falsely advertise the reliability of their tires.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs sustained monetary damages from being misled into purchasing a defective Power King Towmax STR trailer tire. The plaintiffs allege the defendants failed to disclose the defective nature of the tire and that it has a high rate of tread separation.

The plaintiffs seek trial by jury, enjoin the defendant, order the defendant to buy back, or replace the defective class tires, actual, compensatory, exemplary, punitive and statutory damages, interest, disgorgement, restitution, court costs and all further relief the court grants. They are represented by attorneys Daniel L. Keller, Stephen M. Fishback and Dan C. Bolton of Keller, Fishback & Jackson LLP in Agoura Hills, California.

U.S. District Court for the Central District of California Case number 2:17-cv-01060-DMG-JEM

We have had contact with a lawyer who at first promised to help us involving a death of an Estate involving this exact type of trailer tire and we notified the Government No National Safety Alert has been initiated.  Time and time again we are optimistic that funding help or retainer fees would enable us to become a life saving force to counter the massive amounts of money the trailer companies, tire companies and farmers have to "Pay For Silence"  The Estate of this death will receive 1,000,000 more and the case is going to be sealed and once again the insurance companies and business owners have proven that it is cheaper to pay for the claims than to fix the issue.  This practice continues to kill innocent "Random Victims Of Negligence"

FYI
I have an acquaintance / friend worker for Michelin factory in South Carolina.  We had discussion of trailer tires as my boat was 2,000 pounds heavier than the trailer could handle meaning the tired died REAL frequently (long story).  He told me to use small automobile tires because there are no legal standards for trailer tires - they are built like trailers I guess .. voluntary standards at best.
I use car tires

SUMMARY:I WAS TRAVELING NORTH ON THE NY THRUWAY IN 85+ WEATHER. IT WAS 2 PM THE ROADWAY WAS CLEAR OF DEBRIS. THE PASSENGER SIDE, REAR AXLE TIRE INSTANTLY DEFLATED. I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. A GUARDRAIL PREVENTED ME FROM ACCESSING THE TIRE. AS A RESULT I HAD TO MOVE DOWN THE EXTREMELY NARROW SHOULDER UNTIL THE GUARDRAIL ENDED (APPROXIMATELY 2 MILES). THE TIRE WAS SPLIT FROM BEAD TO BEAD STRAIGHT ACROSS THE TIRE. I HAD TO PURCHASE A NEW TIRE.THE FAILED TIRE WAS A POWER KING TOWMAX ST235 80 R16 DOT 83B5 GPB 5012. THE TIRE WAS RETURNED TO DYNAMIC TIRE CORP. THEY SENT ME A LETTER STATING THAT THE TIRE WAS DAMAGED BY A ROAD HAZARD. THE TRAILER IS TOWED BY A DULLY TRUCK. ANY ROAD HAZARD HAD TO IMPACT THE REAR OUTSIDE TRUCK TIRE AND THE FRONT AXLE TIRE ON THE TRAILER. I AM JUST A REGULAR DRIVER WITH 40 YEARS DRIVING EXPERIENCE, THEIR EXPLANATION SEEMS SUSPICIOUS TO ME.

SUMMARY:WE PURCHASED 4 TOWMAX TIRES FOR OUR TRAILER 3 YEARS AGO. THEY HAD LESS THAN 3,000 AND WERE ALWAYS CHECKED FOR PROPER PSI BEFORE TRAVELING. WE WERE APPROX. 100 MILES INTO OUR TRIP WHEN OUR TIRE FAILED AND WE IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. UPON PULLING OVER WE NOTICED THE TREAD HAD SEPARATED AND CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE REAR OF OUR AIRSTREAM. DYNAMIC TIRE REQUESTED THE TIRE FOR WARRANTY INSPECTION (NEVER INFORMED US THAT THE TIRE WOULD NOT BE RETURNED UNLESS WE PAID THE COSTLY RETURN SHIPPING). WE HAD OVER $9,000 IN DAMAGE TO OUR TRAILER (IT RIPPED UP THE ALUMINUM SIDING AND THE SEWAGE) AND DYNAMIC WAS ONLY WILLING TO REIMBURSE $125. DYNAMIC TIRE WROTE, ?THE TIRE RECEIVED FOR INSPECTION WAS SUBMITTED WITH SIGNIFICANT PORTIONS OF THE TREAD MISSING MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO DETERMINE THE OPERATING CONDITIONS OF THE TIRE. HOWEVER, THERE ARE SIGNS OF EXCESSIVE SHOULDER WEAR AND HEAT BUILD UP IN THE TIRE SHOULDER AREA AS EVIDENT BY BLUE DISCOLORATION, SUGGESTING THAT IT HAS ENDURED PROLONGED SERVICE IN AN UNDER INFLATED CONDITION.? THE LETTER ENDED WITH SINCERELY, DTC CLAIM REVIEW COMMITTEE?. THERE WAS NO NAME OR CONTACT INFORMATION, THUS LEAVING NO ROOM FOR DISPUTE. WE VIDEO TAPED THE CONDITION OF THE TIRE BEFORE SENDING IT FOR INSPECTION. THE VIDEO SHOWS NO SIGNS OF EXCESSIVE SHOULDER WEAR AND WE KNOW FOR A FACT THAT THE TIRES WERE NOT UNDER INFLATED AS WE CHECK THEM BEFORE EACH TRIP AND FREQUENTLY WHILE IN STORAGE. WHEN WE ASKED THE TIRE TO BE RETURNED TO US WE WERE TOLD IT WOULD BE COSTLY AND WE WOULD HAVE TO ENDURE THOSE COSTS. WHEN WE ASKED FOR A MANAGERS NAME AND NUMBER WE WERE TOLD THAT INFORMATION COULD NOT BE PROVIDED PER COMPANY POLICY. SUMMARY:WE PURCHASED A 2014 BRAND NEW HEARTLAND BIG COUNTRY FIFTH WHEEL IN NOVEMBER 2014. WE TOOK IT ON OUR FIRST LONG TRIP BEGINNING JUNE 2015. WITH LESS THAN 3500 MILES ON THE POWER KING TRAILER TIRES WE HAD A BLOW OUT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT TIRE TRAVELING AT LESS THAN 60 MILES AN HOUR. THE TIRE SHREDDED AND IN THE PROCESS RIPPED THE BUMPER FROM THE CAMPER, ALONG WITH TV LINES RESULTING IN OVER $4000.00 IN DAMAGE. WE HAD THE TIRE REPLACED AT A TIRE STORE AND CONTINUED OUR TRIP. APPROXIMATELY 3000 MILES LATER THE 2ND TIRE BLEW (ON THE SAME SIDE AS THE FIRST BUT THE REAR TIRE BLEW THIS TIME) ONCE AGAIN WE HAD THE TIRE REPLACED, AND FOCUSSED ON GETTING HOME AT THAT POINT. THE TRAILER WAS REPAIRED UPON OUR RETURN AND WE ALSO PURCHASED A TIRE MONITOR. LAST WEEK WE LOADED THE CAMPER AND HEADED OUT FOR A WEEK IN THE CAROLINAS. WITHIN 75 MILES THE FRONT TRAILER PASSENGER TIRE BLEW. THIS TIME THE BRAKE LINES ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAMPER WERE RIPPED OFF FROM PIECES OF THE SHREDDED TIRE. FORTUNATELY A STATE FARM ROAD RANGER ASSISTED US, CHANGED THE TIRE, AND TOLD US THE OTHER TIRE LOOKED UNUSUALLY SHAPED AND RECOMMENDED WE EXIT ASAP TO CHECK IT. A FLORIDA STATE TROOPER OBSERVED THE SAME PROBLEM. WE WERE ABLE TO FIND A TIRE STORE, SELLING THE SAME POWER KING TIRES. THEY HAD NO OTHER, SO WE PUT TWO MORE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, TURNED AROUND, DROVE THE CAMPER BACK TO CAMPING WORLD AND HAVE JUST SPENT $2000.00 PUTTING NEW GOODYEAR TIRES ON THE ENTIRE CAMPER. WE WERE TOLD WE SHOULD BE THANKFUL NO ONE WAS HURT, AS THE POWER KING TOW MASTER TIRES PUT ON THESE NEW RIGS ARE NOT SAFE, AND SHOULD BE REPLACED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. WE WERE NOT INFORMED AT ALL REGARDING THIS BY HEARTLAND OR CAMPING WORLD. HOPEFULLY SOMEONE WILL DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS BEFORE THERE ARE MORE SERIOUS ACCIDENTS AND INJURIES. IT'S SHAMEFUL "MADE IN AMERICA" RV DEALERS ARE GETTING AWAY WITH THIS.

SUMMARY:WE WERE TRAVELING I-85 NORTH BOUND OUT OF ATLANTA GA.ABOUT 60-65 MPH. ABOUT ONE HOUR INTO OUR TRIP HOME WHEN A TRUCK PULLED UP BESIDE US. HE POINTED AT OUR CAMPER AND TO PULL OVER ASAP. WE PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND WERE SHOCKED TO SEE BOTH RIGHT SIDE TIRES HAD GROWN TO WHERE THEY WERE RUBBING EACH OTHER. AFTER ABOUT 4 HRS TOTAL WE MADE IT TO A SAFE PLACE TO SPEND THE NIGHT, IT WAS TO LATE TO GET ANY WORK DONE. THE NEXT MORNING WE HAD TWO OF THE TIRES REPLACED AND AFTER CLOSER INSPECTION THEY RECOMMENDED WE REPLACE ALL. THEY SAID THE BELTS OR SOMETHING WERE COMING APART INSIDE AND THAT WE WERE LUCKY NO TIRES BLEW OUT. WE HAVE TIRE SENSORS ON OUR TIRES THAT TELL THE PSI AND TEMPERATURE ALL WERE NORMAL AT THE TIME WE HAD OUR PROBLEM. THE CENTER OF THE TIRES HAVE HUMPED UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TREAD AREA AND WERE RUBBING TOGETHER. THE TIRES ARE NORMALLY ABOUT THREE INCHES APART. ALL AXLES AND SUSPENSION HAS BEEN CHECKED BY AN EXPERT, ALL GOOD NO PROBLEMS FOUND ONLY TIRES!

SUMMARY:I WAS TRAVELING ON I94 WITH MY 2013 CRUSADER FIFTH WHEEL TRAVEL TRAILER AT 65 MPH WHEN A DRIVER SIGNALED ME TO PULL OFF THE FREEWAY. MY RIGHT REAR TIRE ( POWER KING TOWMAX ST235/80R16, DOT 83B5 GPB 3612) HAD THROWN THE TREAD AND CAUSED MAJOR DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION THE LEFT REAR TIRE WAS SEPARATED AS WELL. THROUGH ROAD SERVICE I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT TO A TIRE STORE USING MY SPARE TIRE. THE TIRE STORE INSPECTED ALL MY REMAINING TIRES BEFORE REPLACING THE TWO BACK TIRES. THEY VERIFIED THE TIRES HAD THE CORRECT TIRE PRESSURE OF 80 PSI AND THE TREAD MEASURED 9/32". THESE TIRES HAVE BEEN MAINTAINED WELL HAVING LESS THAN 6000 MILES ON THEM. I CHECK THEM BEFORE EACH TRIP THEREFORE THERE SHOULD BE NO REASON FOR THEM TO FAIL. I ALSO OBSERVED SEVERAL WEB SITES LISTING DOZENS OF COMPLAINTS SIMILAR TO MINE. THESE TIRES SHOULD BE TAKEN OFF THE MARKET BEFORE SOMEONE DIES.

SUMMARY:MAY 2013 ON OUR SUNDANCE FIFTH WHEEL WE HAD POWER LONG TOW MAX TIRES 225/75R15 LOAD RANGE E. THIS WAS A HIGHER WEIGHT RATING THAN ORIGINALLY ON THE TRAILER. WHILE TRAVELING ON HWY 50 AT 55 MPH THE DRIVERS REAR TIRE BLEW OUT. ONCE PULLED OVER IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE OTHER 3 TIRES HAD TREAD SEPARATION AS WELL. THE TIRES WERE 3 YEARS OLD WITH APPROXIMATELY 5,000 MILES ON THEM. THE TIRE SHOP REPLACED ALL THE TIRES WITH THE SAME MODEL. IN JUNE 2014, ALL 4 TIRES HAD TREAD SEPARATION, ONE CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE TRAILER. TIRE TEMPS WERE TAKEN IMMEDIATELY AFTER AND THEY WERE ALL IN NORMAL RANGE. *TR

SUMMARY:I WAS TRAVELING EAST ON I-20 IN ALABAMA TOWING MY 2013 FOREST RIVER XLR 300X12. THE CURB SIDE REAR TIRE (2 AXLES) DISINTEGRATED WITHOUT WARNING, CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE SIDE OF MY TRAILER AND TO THE RIM. I INSTALLED THE SPARE AND LIMPED HOME. I DECIDED TO REPLACE ALL OF THE TIRES. WHEN THE STREET SIDE FRONT TIRE WAS INSPECTED AFTER REMOVAL, IT SHOWED OBVIOUS SIGNS OF TREAD/BELT SEPARATION (DEFORMATION). THE TIRES WERE THE ORIGINAL TIRES SUPPLIED BY THE RV MANUFACTURER, POWERKING TOWMAX 235/80-16 LOAD RANGE E, DOT CODE 83B5 GPB, DATE CODE 2412. THE TIRES WERE INSPECTED FOR PRESSURE (80LBS) AND VISUAL DEFECTS ~150 MILES BEFORE THE FLAT. MY SPEED WAS 62 MPH, TEMPS WERE NEAR 90°. *TR

SUMMARY:PURCHASED MY HEARTLAND BIGHORN 3670RL 5TH WHEEL NEW IN JANUARY 2013. THE RV CAME STANDARD WITH POWER KING TOWMAX STR TIRES, ST235/80R16 LR "E". MY FIRST BLOWOUT OCCURRED IN MAY 2014 WITH FEWER THAN 2000 MILES ON THE TIRES. LUCKILY NO DAMAGE TO THE TRAILER. SENT THE TIRE TO THE DISTRIBUTOR WHO CLAIMED THAT IT WAS A ROAD HAZARD ISSUE AND WOULD NOT WARRANTY THE TIRE. I KNOW I HADN'T HIT ANYTHING IN THE ROAD TO HAVE CAUSED THE PROBLEM. THEN TWO WEEKS AGO WE WERE RETURNING FROM A TRIP TO THE TEXAS HILL COUNTRY BACK TO THE HOUSTON AREA WHEN THE SECOND BLOWOUT OCCURRED. BECAUSE I WAS ON A MAJOR FREEWAY (I-10) I LIMPED ALONG TO THE NEXT EXIT WHERE I WAS ABLE TO CHANGE THE TIRE. AGAIN, NO SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE RV. AFTER STOPPING FOR ABOUT 45 MINUTES THE NEXT BLOWOUT OCCURRED. AGAIN I HAD TO LIMP OFF THE FREEWAY COMPLETELY RUINING THE ALUMINUM RIM. LUCKILY I HAD CARRIED TWO SPARES AND WAS ABLE TO CHANGE IT AS WELL BEFORE HEADING INTO HOUSTON. I STOPPED AT THE FIRST TIRE STORE I FOUND AND REPLACED ALL THE TOWMAX TIRES WITH CARLISE TRAILER TIRES AND MADE IT HOME. THE LAST BLOWOUT COMPLETELY SEPARATED THE TREAD AND BROKE SEVERAL BRAKE WIRES AND SLIGHTLY DAMAGED THE FIBERGLASS FENDER COVER ON THE RV. NO MAJOR DAMAGE TO THE RV OTHER THAN THE ALUMINUM RIM. ALL OF THE TOWMAX TIRES ARE DOT 83B5 MANUFACTURED IN (1012) AND (1112). I'VE ALWAYS BEEN VERY CAREFUL TO CHECK THE AIR PRESSURE ON ALL MY TIRES BEFORE LEAVING OR RETURNING FROM THE TRIP. I MAINTAIN 80 PSI ON ALL TIRES PER THE LOAD RATING ON THE TIRE. I ALSO MAINTAIN A SPEED OF 65 MPH OR LESS WHEN PULLING THE RV. *JS

SUMMARY:WE WERE TOWING A 2012 HEARTLAND CYCLONE 300C 5TH WHEEL TOY HAULER TRAILER EQUIPPED WITH TOW MAX 235/80 R16 TRAILER TIRES IN APRIL, 2013 ON CA HWY 60 NEAR RIVERSIDE, CA WHEN THE LEFT REAR TRAILER TIRE BLEW. THERE WAS NO SIGN THAT I STRUCK AN OBJECT OR RAN OVER ANYTHING. LUCKILY I HAD EXITED FREEWAY AND CAUGHT FLAT BEFORE ANY DAMAGE OCCURRED. ALL 4 TRAILER TIRES HAD 80 PSI AND TRAILER WAS NOT OVER LOADED. I CHANGED FLAT TIRE WITH SPARE UNTIL REPLACING IT WITH A GOODYEAR MARATHON OF THE SAME SIZE. IN NOVEMBER, 2013, WHILE TOWING THE SAME TOY HAULER TRAILER MY WIFE AND SON WERE FOLLOWING ME IN HER CAR ON CA HWY 395 HEADING TO RIDGECREST, CA WHEN SHE NOTICED MY RIGHT REAR TRAILER TIRE GOING FLAT. MY SON CALLED ME ON MY CELL PHONE TO ADVISE ME OF THIS SITUATION. I WAS ABLE TO PULL INTO THE NEXT SMALL TOWN AND FOUND BOTH TOW MAX TRAILER TIRES ON THE RIGHT SIDE COMPLETELY FLAT. AGAIN, THE TRAILER WAS NOT OVER LOADED AND I DID NOT STRIKE OR RUN OVER ANYTHING AND HELD 80 PSI. THE STEEL BELTS WERE PROTRUDING THROUGH THE CORNERS OF THE TREAD ON BOTH TIRES. WE WERE FORTUNATE THAT THERE WAS A TIRE REPAIR SHOP NEARBY THAT WAS ABLE TO SELL US TWO NEW TRAILER TIRES (NOT TOW MAX) AND HAVE US BACK ON THE ROAD WITHIN AN HOUR AND A HALF. *TR

SUMMARY:TIRES ARE APPROXIMATELY 1.5 YEARS OF AGE BASED ON "0111" DOT CODE AND HAVE APPROXIMATELY 2000 MILES OF USE (NO SIGNS OF DRY ROT OR OTHER FAILURE PRIOR TO TREAD SEPARATION 1ST INCIDENT MAY 24TH 2013 WHILE TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH ON A FARM TO MARKET ROAD I HAD A POWERKING TOWMAX ST235/80R16 TIRES BLOWOUT AND TREAD SEPARATION. REPLACED TIRE AND RETURNED HOME (~150 MILES) CONTACTED DYNAMIC TIRE CORPORATION AND AFTER SHIPPING THEM THE TIRE THEY FOUND NO APPARENT DEFECT TO THE TIRE AND PAID FOR THE REPLACEMENT TIRE AND THE REPAIRS TO MY TRAILER. (~$2000 IN DAMAGES) HOWEVER DID NOT PAY TO REPLACE THE OTHER 3 REMAINING TIRES. 2ND INCIDENT AUGUST 14TH 2013 UPON PICKING UP THE UNIT AFTER REPAIRS WERE MADE, I DROVE APPROXIMATELY 9 MILES FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND HAD A SECOND BLOWOUT ON THE POWERKING TOWMAX TIRES AGAIN APPROX SPEED 60 MPH... THIS TIRE HAD THE SAME DOT CODE OF 0111 RESULTING IN ANOTHER $2000 IN DAMAGE. SHIPPED THE FAILED TIRE PLUS THE OTHER 2 UN-FAILED TIRES TO DYNAMIC TIRE IN BRAMPTON ON, CANADA ... THEY ARE NOW TELLING ME THIS IS CAUSED BY POSSIBLE UNDER INFLATION, SO ONE TIRE OF THE 4 HAS NO SIGNS OF WHY IT SHOULD FAIL. ... YET ~159 MILES LATER THE OTHER FAILED TIRE PLUS THE REMAINING 2 UN-FAILED TIRES "EXHIBIT SIGNS OF UNEVEN TREAD WEAR AND OVER DEFLECTION" TIRES WERE CONSISTENTLY MAINTAINED AT 80PSI SO UNDER-INFLATION WAS NOT THE CASE. AND THESE ARE THE OE TIRES FROM KEYSTONE ... SO THEY SHOULD BE RATED FOR THAT TRAILERS WEIGHT. *TR

SUMMARY:I HAVE A 2012 KEYSTONE COUGAR 324RLB AND I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW IN AUG. 2011. IT HAS ST235/8016 POWER-KING TOW-MAX STR TIRES (DOT 83B5 GPB 1211) THAT CAME NEW WITH THE TRAILER. THESE TIRES HAVE VERY LOW MILES ON THEM, LESS THAN 5000 MILES. ON LABOR DAY 2013 I HAD A BLOWOUT ON THE CURB SIDE REAR WHEEL WHILE COMING BACK FROM A CAMPING TRIP. THE BLOWOUT CAUSED MAJOR DAMAGE TO MY TRAILER AND WHEN THE TREAD CAME OFF THE TIRE WRAPPED AROUND THE AXLE AND CUT THE ELECTRIC BRAKE LINE. I ALWAYS INSPECT MY TIRES BEFORE EVERY TRIP AND MAKE SURE THEY ARE PROPERLY INFLATED TO 80LBS. PER THE MANUFACTURERS RECOMMENDATION. THE TRAILER IS IN THE SHOP RIGHT NOW GETTING FIXED BUT NOW I AM WORRIED ABOUT THE OTHER THREE TIRES AND THE SPARE THAT ARE STILL ON IT. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ON THESE PARTICULAR TIRES IT SOUNDS LIKE THERE MIGHT BE A PROBLEM WITH THEM AND THAT IS WHY I AM POSTING THIS. I THINK THAT WHEN I GET MY TRAILER BACK I AM GOING TO REPLACE ALL TIRES WITH A BETTER BRAND. *TR

SUMMARY:ON HIGHWAY RETURNING FROM CAMPING TRIP ABOUT 400 MILES ONE WAY TRIP. TIRES OVERHEATED VERY BADLY-FELT SOFT-AND SMELLED LIKE RUBBER BURNING. CHECKING DIFFERENT SOURCES ON-LINE REVEALED THAT TOMAX TIRES ON HEARTLAND RVS ARE A KNOW PROBLEM. MY GOOD FRIEND HAS A 2012 THAT THREE OF THE FOUR TIRES CAME APART ON THE ROAD AND CAUSED MAJOR DAMAGE TO HIS RV. HE HAD TO BUY 4 NEW TIRES WHILE SITTING BESIDE I-95. I ASKED HEARTLAND TO CHECK MINE. THEY SENT ME TO TIRE KINGDOM (WHO SELLS THE TIRE) OF COURSE THEY SAID BECAUSE NOTHING HAD HAPPENED YET THEY COULD DO NOTHING. I AM VERY CONCERNED. IT HAS TO FAIL ON THE HIGHWAY AND PUT ME AND FAMILY IN SERIOUS DANGER BEFORE ANYTHING CAN BE DONE. AS I HAVE SAID THE FORUMS ON BOTH HEARTLAND AND OTHER RV SITES HAVE NUMEROUS EXAMPLES OF THIS TIRE FAILING IN A DRAMATIC FASHION. I AM SUBMITTING THIS TO GO ON RECORD THAT WHEN THESE TIRES GO IT WAS RECORDED AND A KNOWN ISSUE. I JUST GOT BACK FROM ANOTHER TRIP OF ABOUT 500 MILES AND THE TIRES AGAIN GOT VERY HOT. I WAS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO MY GROSS WEIGHT AND I NEVER WENT OVER 65 MPH. *TR

SUMMARY:WHILE TRAVELING NORTH FROM SAN ANTONIO, TX TO LANCASTER, PA WITH OUR 2011 HEARTLAND CYCLONE 3950 WE HAD A SEVERE BLOWOUT ON THE DOOR SIDE OF THE FIFTH WHEEL(PASSENGER SIDE OF TRUCK). THIS BLOWOUT CAUSED SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE REAR SIDE OF THE CYCLONE. THIS FIFTH WHEEL ONLY HAD 200 MILES OF TRAVEL TIME PRIOR TO LEAVING SAN ANTONIO. THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED ON JULY 20, 2012 ABOUT 16 MILES FROM EMPORIA, VA. THE TIRES WERE THE ORIGINAL TIRES THAT WERE MOUNTED ON THE FIFTH WHEEL AT PURCHASE TIME. WE WERE DELAYED FOR AT LEAST 5 DAYS IN EMPORIA AND HAD TO HAVE A MOBILE REPAIRMAN COME OUT TO REMOVE SOME OF THE SHEET METAL SO THAT WE COULD CONTINUE ON OUR TRIP NORTH. WE ALSO HAD ALL SIX TIRES REPLACED BECAUSE OF OUR UNTRUST OF THE POWER KING TOWMASTER TIRES. DURING OUR TRIP NORTH WE STOPPED EVERY 4 HOURS AND AT THAT TIME I CHECKED THE AIR PRESSURE. THE TIRES WERE INFLATED TO 80 PSI SINCE THIS IS A VERY HEAVY FIFTH WHEEL (18,000 LBS GVWR). THESE TIRES SHOULD NOT BE USED ON ANY TYPE OF FIFTH WHEEL. THEY ARE DANGEROUS AND THANK GOODNESS NO ONE WAS INJURED. THERE WAS NO DEBRIS THAT WAS RUN OVER AND IT WAS A MODERATE TEMPERATURE THAT DAY (85 DEGREES). *TR

SUMMARY:WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY THE TRAILER STARTED TO VIBRATE. I PULLED OVER IMMEDIATELY AND DISCOVERED THE TIRE TREAD HAD SEPARATED FROM THE MIDDLE OF THE TIRE CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE TRAILER. THE TIRE DID NOT HAVE A BLOW OUT..IT DID NOT LOSE ITS AIR UNTIL IT WAS SITTING ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE TIRE HAD ONLY ABOUT 4000 MILES ON IT. IT WAS INFLATED ACCORDING TO GUIDELINES AND CHECKED EVERYTIME WE STARTED OUT DRIVING. IT WAS JUST CHECKED 154 MILES PRIOR TO THE TREAD COMING OFF. THE TRAVEL TRAILER WAS NOT OVERLOADED. HAVE HAD CONTACT WITH THE TIRE MAKER AND THEY PICKED UP THE TIRE TO RUN TESTS. THEIR FINDINGS OF COURSE WERE THEY WERE NOT AT FAULT BUT WOULD RECOMMEND WE CHANGE ALL TIRES. ( WHICH WE DID BEFORE THEY SUGGESTED IT BECAUSE WE DID NOT TRUST THE REST OF THE TIRES ON THE TRAILER.) THEY DID OFFER AS A GOOD WILL SIGN TO BUY US ONE NEW TIRE IF WE SIGN A RELEASE OF LIABILITY. THAT DOESN'T PAY FOR THE DAMAGES OR THE 4 NEW TIRES WE PUT ON THE TRAILER. EVERYONE WHO LOOKED AT THE TIRE EVEN THE GUY WHO REPLACED THE TIRE SAID THAT THE TIRE SHOULD NOT HAVE SEPARATED LIKE THAT. I THINK THE TIRE NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT BY SOMEONE ELSE. THAT COULD HAVE BEEN A LOT WORSE IF I DID NOT KNOW THE FEEL OF MY TRUCK AND TRAILER AND KNEW SOMETHING WAS WRONG RIGHT A WAY. THE TIRE WAS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE IN THE REAR OF A TWO AXLE TRAILER SO I DID NOT RUN OVER SOMETHING BECAUSE THE FRONT TIRE WOULD HAVE HIT IT FIRST AND I KNOW THERE WAS NOTHING IN THE ROAD. ALTHOUGH THE INSURANCE HAS PICKED UP THE BILL FOR THE REPAIRS I DON'T THINK ITS RIGHT AND THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE TIRE. *TR

SUMMARY:1. PURCHASED A NEW GRAND JUNCTION 5TH WHEEL IN JUNE OF 2009. FIRST TRIP TO USE HAD A TREAD RIPPED TOTALLY OFF THE TIRE. I HAD MADE SURE THAT THE DEALER HAD PUT THE AIR PRESSURE IN CORRECT.. I FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE MANUAL ONLY TO FIND I SPENT MORE OF MY MONEY TO SEND THE TIRE BACK. THE TIRE WAS A CHINA MADE TOW MAX WHICH WAS OVER 2 1/2 YEARS OLD ON A NEW UNIT. BEING THE FIRST TIME OUT I ASSUMED THEY WOULD TAKE CARE OF IT.... NO WAY.... THE CANADIAN TIRE SUPPLIER TOLD ME THAT SINCE I DID NOT HAVE THE TREAD, THERE WAS NO WAY THEY COULD TELL WHAT HAPPENED TO THE TIRE..I HAVE PICTURES OF THE TIRE... I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF INTERSTATE 40 AT NIGHT WITH MY WIFE WHEN THIS OCCURRED. NO WAY WAS I GOING TO RISK THE SAFETY OF MY SELF AND MY WIFE TO GET THE TREAD, WHICH WAS COMPLETELY OFF THE TIRE. I CALLED AND THEY SENT ME A LETTER STATING THAT I SHOULD REPLACE ALL THE TIRES SINCE THERE WAS A TIRE FAILURE. AFTER SPENDING $10,000 OF DOLLARS, THEY TELL ME TO PUT MORE TIRES ON THE TRAILER FOR SAFELY AND FIX THE DAMAGE...SOME HOW THIS DOES NOT SEEM CORRECT THAT WE CAN ALLOW COMPANIES TO PUT OLD TIRES ON TRAILERS AND THEN NOT EVEN CARE OF THE SAFETY OF THE PEOPLE. GRAND JUNCTION WHO IS OWNED BY THOR BUYS THE TIRES FROM CANADA WHO HAS THEM MAKE IN CHINA.SOMEONE SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE QUALITY OF PRODUCTS THEY ARE USING. PLEASE ADVISE WHO I CAN MAKE A FORMAL COMPLAINT AGAINST THIS COMPANY AND ALL INVOLVED.... I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THE TIRE LIFE IF REGULATED IN ANY WAY. NOTHING WAS DONE TO CORRECT THE FAILURE OF THE TIRES OTHER THAT TELL ME TO REPLACE THEM. NO PARTS WERE REPLACED BY THE COMPANY AND SO FAR THEY DO NOT SEEN TO CARE I WILL CONTACT CONSUMER GROUPS AND DO ALL I CAN TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING TO OTHER PEOPLE.. BECAUSE SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET HURT... TIRES CAN GO OUT AT ANY TIME,,,, BUT WHEN YOU PUT OLD TIRES ON AND DO NOT BACK YOUR PRODUCT, SOMEONE SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT OF KILLED. *TR

SUMMARY:WHILE PULLING MY 5THWHEEL TRAILER EXPERIENCED A VERY RAPID BLOW-OUT OF R/H REAR TIRE. AND EXTREME DAMAGE TO THE TRAILER, THE TIRES WERE POWERKING TOWMAX ST225/75R15 TIRES THE MANUFACTURE IS GPX INTERNATIONAL TIRE CORP, TWO INDEPENDENT TIRE DEALERS CONFIRMED IT WAS A DEFECT, AND NOT CAUSED BY LOW TIRE PRESSURE CONDITION AND THERE WAS A QUARTER SIZE HOLE IN THE UPPER TREAD AREA.WITH NO SIGN OF SIDE WALL FAILURE. I'M ALSO A AIRCRAFT MECHANIC AND KNOW IT WAS NOT A LACK OF MAINTENANCE ON MY PART,I CAN ACTUALLY BE ACCUSED OF OVER MAINTENANCE OF MY VEHICLES, ALSO I'M POSITIVE NOTHING WAS HIT ON THE FREEWAY HAVE BEEN PULLING TRAILERS FOR 20 + YRS AND FIRST BLOW OUT LIKE THIS. ALSO HAD THE L/H REAR TIRE GO FLAT 20 MILES LATER WITH NO DAMAGE TO THE TRAILER BUT ATTRIBUTED THIS TO THE STRESS FROM R/H TIRE RAPID BLOW-OUT, AGAIN IT WAS NOT CAUSED BY TO HIGH OF A SPEED,I'M AWARE OF THE 65MPH MAX SPEED RATING OF THESE ST TIRES, I'M PULLING AT 55-60 MPH MAX. ALSO TO KEEP TIRE TEMPS DOWN,, TIRE PRESSURES ARE ALWAYS MAINTAINED BEFORE EVERY TRIP,ALSO THERE WAS PLENTY OF TREAD DEPTH LEFT AT LEAST 6/32S THE SAFETY MARKER IS AT 2/32S THE TIRES HAD ABOUT 9,000 MILES ON THEM. THE TIRE DEALER REPLACED THEM ALL FOR NOTHING BECAUSE THERE WAS PLENTY OF TREAD THERE. IT WAS VERY UNNERVING WHEN THE SECOND TIRE FAILED BECAUSE THERE WAS NO PLACE TO GET COMPLETELY OFF THE ROAD. MY HOPE IS THAT SOMEONE ELSE DOESN'T HAVE A MORE SERIOUS ACCIDENT. THANKS FOR CHECKING TO SEE IF OTHER PEOPLE ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME FAILURES. ALSO, THE TIRES WERE MADE IN CANADA WITH A 2007 DATE WAS ON THE DOT CODE SIDEWALL OF THE TIRE. *TR

SUMMARY:WE TOOK DELIVERY OF A NEW CARRIAGE 5TH WHEEL 4/1/07. ON 6/18/09 WE NOTICED A BULGE IN (1) OF 4 TIRES WE HAVE ON OUR 5TH WHEEL DURING A TIRE CHECK. UNDER GOOD FAITH WE PURCHASED AN IDENTICAL REPLACEMENT TIRE. THEY WERE ALSO ROTATED. WE CHECKED ALL TIRES AGAIN BEFORE DEPARTING ON AN EAST COAST TRIP TO MYRTLE BEACH SC. UPON DAY ONE 7/18/09 MID-AFTERNOON OUR RIGHT FENDER OF THE TRAILER WAS TORN AWAY. UPON FINDING A SAFE STOPPING POINT-WE FOUND THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE WAS BLOWN. WE WAITED ALONG THE FREEWAY 2.5 HRS FOR A TOW REPAIR. WE DUCK TAPED OUR FENDER. WE PROCEEDED TO THE NEXT EXIT (2 MILES)TO VERIFY TIRE PRESSURE IN THE SPARE. WE FOUND ANOTHER TIRE WITH ONLY 25 LBS AND SEVERELY BULGING. WE HAD ANOTHER HOUR TO LIMP TO OUR DESTINATION. WE ARRIVED SATURDAY NIGHT AT 7:30PM. THE NEXT DAY TIRE WAS EXTREMELY LOW. WE COULD NOT TRAVEL HOME. NOTHING COULD BE DONE TILL MONDAY-7/20/09. WE MADE NUMEROUS CALLS TO OUR TRAILER COMPANY, TIRE COMPANY AND LOCAL TIRE DEALERS. THE TIRE COMPANY, GPX-TOWMAX CUSTOMER SERVICE REP AGREED TO REIMBURSEMENT OF ONLY $120 FOR ONLY THREE TIRES. WE WOULD NEED TO FIGHT FOR THE PREVIOUS PURCHASE OF $153.50. UPON REPLACING THE TIRES THEY FOUND THE 4TH TIRE (UPON REMOVING FROM RIM) WAS SEPARATING AS WELL. WE HAD TO PURCHASE FOUR NEW TIRES TO RETURN HOME ON. WE HAVE ALSO INCURRED $146.58 IN EXPENSES TO REPAIR THE FENDER. WE ADVISED TO DESTROY THE TIRES AND LEAVE THEM IN TN. ONLY THE BLOWN TIRE WOULD NEED TO BE EXAMINED. THEY WOULD ARRANGE A CALL TAG. WE EVEN STOPPED AT A KY WEIGHT STATION TO PROVE WE ARE NOT OVERWEIGHT. (WHICH THEY CLAIMED) WE JUST RECEIVED NOTICE BY LETTER REJECTING ANY RESPONSIBILITY. WE ARE TOTALLY TO BLAME. THEY WILL NOT COVER OUR OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE OF THE JUNE PURCHASE, THE 4TH TIRE,AND THE REPAIR. IN FACT, THEY WANT US TO "SIGN A RELEASE" AND PROVIDE A REPLACEMENT. NO WAY. WE ALSO WERE JUST ADVISED REIMBURSEMENT OF THE JUNE PURCHASED TIRE WILL ONLY BE $35. NOTE-OUR 5TH WHEEL IS A CAMEO BY CARRIAGE (NOT ON YOUR LIST. *TR

SUMMARY:WE WHERE HEADING HOME AFTER SPENDING 2 MONTHS IN WINTERHAVEN, CA. I WAS DRIVING TOWARD QUARTZSITE, AZ. I WAS APPROXIMATELY 37 MILES FROM THERE WHEN I NOTICED SOMETHING AT THE CURB SIDE REAR CORNER. I WAS DRIVING AT 62 MILES PER HOUR AND SLOWED DOWN AND FOUND A SAFE SPOT TO PULL OFF. WHEN I WENT BACK TO CHECK WHAT WAS THERE I FOUND THE REAR TIRE AND THE BACK AXLE HAD COMPLETELY LOST ITS TREAD AND DID CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE TO THE FIFTH WHEEL TRAILER. I THEN HAD ROAD SERVICE COME OUT AND CHANGE THE TIRE. I WENT TO QUARTZSITE TO AMERICAN TIRE STORE TO PURCHASE ANOTHER TIRE. I HAD THE TIRE PERSON CHECK THE TIRE AND HE CONFIRMED THAT IT WAS A BAD TIRE. I THEN CHECKED THE OTHER TIRES THAT WERE STILL ON THE GROUND AND FOUND THAT TWO OF THESE HAD LARGE KNOTS INDICATING SEPARATION. THE TIRES HAD THE CORRECT PRESSURE AND HAD LESS THAN 5000 MILES ON THEM. I REPLACED ALL FOUR TIRES WITH ANOTHER BRAND. AS THE TIRE PERSON WAS DISMOUNTING EACH TIRE IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT ALL FOUR TIRES THAT WERE ON THE GROUND HAD THE VALVE STEMS INCORRECTLY MOUNTED. *TR

Description of the Complaint:
We purchased 4 towmax tires for our trailer 3 years ago. They had less than 15,000 miles and were always checked for proper psi before traveling. However, there are signs of excessive shoulder wear and heat build up in the tire shoulder area as evident by blue discoloration, suggesting that it has endured prolonged service in an under inflated condition.? the letter ended with ?sincerely, DTC claim review committee?. In short, dynamic tire does not stand by their warranty, they lie in order to void their warranty and they refuse to provide contact information for management or someone of authority.

Description of the Complaint:
While traveling west on mo-7 approx 2 miles east of garden city, the rear drivers side tire blew out on our bumper tow 1995 holiday rambler travel trailer with tandem tires. The tire was less than 4 years old, and had less than 3,000 miles on it on this temperate fall day, when the tread separated and the tire blew out. The approx. 6 ft long loose tread flailed the wheel well and severely damaged the wheel well, trailer side and the waste water tank drain lines, valves, and valve controls. Vehicle speed was approximately 58 miles per hour on an excellent asphalt road surface. There was no evidence of any road hazards.. The tire pressure had been checked in the last 48 hours and had been driven less than 200 miles. The trailer was immediately pulled over to the shoulder, and the wheel was changed with the spare tire, the trailer was towed back to clinton, mo, where repair estimate was over $6,000. The Insurance company judged it to be a total loss.

Description of the Complaint:
I was traveling on i94 with my 2013 crusader fifth wheel travel trailer at 65 mph when a driver signaled me to pull off the freeway.

We were towing our 2010 heartland eagle ridge 5th wheel trailer. We were traveling at approximately 60 mph when the tread of the power king tow max str st 235/80r/16 dot #83b5 gpb completely peeled away from the tire. This caused significate damage to the fender and slide resulting in $3100 in damage. We were on a road with no shoulder so had to continue on to the next town approximately 5 miles away where we were able to change the tire. The tire pressure was at the recommended pressure of 80 psi. On august 14, 2015, about 15 miles from our home the tread from the tire on the other side of the camper seperated. The tread was wedged in the axel. There was damage to the fender, wiring harness and propane line. This damage amounted to $1500. Needless to say all the tires will be replaced now but not with this brand of tire.

Saturday, 9/20/14, we drove approx 300 miles from fl on interstates 95 and 26, speed 65 mph or lower, towing our 2014 heartland bighorn 5th wheel trailer equipped with power king tow max st235/80r16 tires. Tire pressure (80 psi) and lug torque (120 ft/lb) checked before departure. Exited I-26 in lexington sc and had driven 2-3 miles, speeds 35 and under, on surface street when left rear tire blew, separating 2/3 of the tread circumference creating a 3 1/2 foot long 8 inch wide steel belted flail that destroyed the lower valance and wheel well on left main slide, throwing debris on adjacent traffic. Thankfully, due to low speed at time (20-25), there were no injuries, damage to other vehicles or loss of vehicle control. Trailer purchased new jan 2014 and had less than 1500 miles total use. Internet search revealed lots of similar stories and a full complaint log (50) since 6/2014 on NHTSA site. No faith in these tires; replaced two (all the local goodyear tire dealer had on a sunday) but will replace them all when available. Heartland and tbc, the tire maker (?) will hear as well. Serious safety hazard!

We were towing a 2012 heartland cyclone 300c 5th wheel toy hauler trailer equipped with tow max 235/80 r16 trailer tires in april, 2013 on ca hwy 60 near riverside, ca when the left rear trailer tire blew.

While driving on the freeway the trailer started to vibrate.

Description of the Complaint:
We own an rv dealership in new hampshire. We have been in business for over 20 years. We are having continual problems with blowouts on customers units that have the tow max power king tires on them. This tire has many issues, but the biggest is belt failure, resulting in blowouts. This is very unsafe. We have replaced far too many of these tires and I think that there should be a recall. The tire size is 235 80r16 load range e. If you need any further information - please do not hesitate to call.

Description of the Complaint:

Description of the Complaint:
While pulling my 5thwheel trailer experienced a very rapid blow-out of r/h rear tire. And extreme damage to the trailer, the tires were powerking towmax st225/75r15 tires the manufacture is gpx international tire corp, two independent tire dealers confirmed it was a defect, and not caused by low tire pressure condition and there was a quarter size hole in the upper tread area. With no sign of side wall failure. Also to keep tire temps down,, tire pressures are always maintained before every trip, also there was plenty of tread depth left at least 6/32s the safety marker is at 2/32s the tires had about 9,000 miles on them.

S4.2.2 Tire load limits for multipurpose passenger vehicles, trucks, buses, and trailers.

S4.2.2.1 Except as provided in S4.2.2.2, the sum of the maximum load ratings of the tires fitted to an axle shall not be less than the GAWR of the axle system as specified on the vehicle's certification label required by 49 CFR part 567. If the certification label shows more than one GAWR for the axle system, the sum shall be not less than the GAWR corresponding to the size designation of the tires fitted to the axle.

S4.2.2.2 When passenger car tires are installed on an MPV, truck, bus, or trailer, each tire's load rating is reduced by dividing it by 1.10 before determining, under S4.2.2.1, the sum of the maximum load ratings of the tires fitted to an axle.

S4.3.3 Additional labeling information for vehicles other than passenger cars. Each vehicle shall show the size designation and, if applicable, the type designation of rims (not necessarily those on the vehicle) appropriate for the tire appropriate for use on that vehicle, including the tire installed as original equipment on the vehicle by the vehicle manufacturer, after each GAWR listed on the certification label required by § 567.4 or § 567.5 of this chapter.
