A rural Owensville man was cited Tuesday by the Missouri State Highway Patrol for failure to properly secure the load when the trailer he was hauling came loose from his Chevy 3500 pickup truck and struck a passing motorist’s Dodge Ram 2500 pickup.
Jeremy A. Bandy, 21, of Sullivan (left) was transported by Owensville Area Ambulance District personnel to Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan with moderate injuries, according to the MSPH report by Trooper Coby Holzschuh. At 3:43 p.m., a trailer being hauled north on Highway 19 came loose from 31-year-old Willie J. Frolker’s truck. A Toro Z Master mower came off the trailer and struck the front end of Bandy’s truck. Bandy was injured with the trailer careened down the side of his truck and struck him in the arm. Bandy was wearing a seat belt and airbags deployed in the crash which occurred a mile south of town.
