A Chesterfield County woman was killed Sunday when the vehicle she was driving was struck by a moving trailer that came loose from a pickup truck in the 13100 block of Hull Street Road in Chesterfield County.
Elaine Lois Decker, 51, of the 15400 block of Foxvale Way was pronounced dead at the scene of the 11:23 a.m. wreck. Police said Decker was driving westbound in a 2005 Cadillac when it was struck by a tandem-axle trailer on the driver's side. The trailer had become disconnected from a 2003 Ford pickup and crossed the median before striking Decker's Cadillac, police said.
The crash remains under investigation.

Elaine was Director of the Diabetes Treatment Centers for area Bon
Secours Hospitals. She was loved and respected by the medical staffs of
the hospitals and by the patients she advised personally. She was a
dedicated mom to her two children, Hilary and Zachary, a terrific aunt to my
daughter Ashley, and a wonderful sister to me. Our 82 year old mother is
heartbroken, and we are all devastated by our loss.
Thank you for reaching out to our family, even though you do not even know
us. I hope that you will keep us in your prayers.
